Squirrels are young people aged 4 to 6 who:
Master new skills and try new things aimed at the Early Years of Childhood Development
Have fun and go on adventures
Make friends
Are curious about the world around them and begin to take the initial steps to explore this in a safe environment
Help others and make a difference, on their own doorstops and beyond
Every week, they gather in groups called Squirrel Dreys to hop, skip and jump their way through lots of different games and activities – achieving anything they set their minds to, and having lots of fun along the way.
Badges
At Squirrels there are a range of activity badges and challenge awards that Squirrel Scouts can gain to recognise their achievements towards their Chief Acorn Award.
The Squirrel Scout Promise
Once a Squirrel scout has attended for a few weeks, they can formally join the colony by making a promise in front of their colony.
There are a number of variations of the Squirrel Scout Promise to reflect the range of faiths, beliefs and attitudes, and nationalities, in the UK these can be downloaded here.
The Squirrels Scout Motto
Be prepared.
